How it began
In 2002, Larry Jumper Jr. felt God’s call to go on a mission trip to Haiti. While there, he was deeply moved by the needs of the children. As he walked through the mountains, children would follow him, and he prayed for God’s direction. Each day, God continued to bring more children across his path.
After returning home for a few months, Larry felt an undeniable pull to go back. He returned to Haiti for a full year, living among the people, learning the language, and using his construction skills to serve the community. During this time, he met Francine, whom he grew to love deeply.
Through his love for the people—especially the children—Larry became connected with social services in Haiti. He eventually adopted a young girl named Natalie Warm Defects, marking the beginning of Jump In Faith Ministries (JFM). Though Natalie passed away at the age of six due to health issues, her life inspired Larry’s lifelong commitment to caring for Haiti’s children.
